Care Guide

A few simple habits will keep your Maison Couvert pieces looking their best for years.

Bone china and porcelain

Wash in warm, soapy water or on a gentle dishwasher cycle unless the product notes say otherwise. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving a plate from the refrigerator straight into a hot oven.

Gold, platinum and gilded detailing

Always wash by hand with a soft sponge and mild soap. Never place gilded pieces in the microwave or dishwasher, and avoid abrasive cleaners that can wear the finish.

Stoneware and reactive glazes

Dry pieces fully before stacking. Small variations in glaze are part of their character and are not a defect.

Crystal and glassware

Hand wash in lukewarm water and dry with a lint free cloth while the glass is still warm for a streak free shine. Hold stemware by the bowl, not the stem, when washing.

Flatware

Rinse soon after use, wash in warm soapy water and dry promptly to prevent water spots. Gold and colored finishes keep their shine longest when washed by hand.

Wood and marble

Wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Treat wooden boards with food safe oil from time to time.
